Postnatal Doula Support in Sheffield, South Yorkshire & North Derbyshire
You don't have to do this alone.
The early weeks with a new baby are a mix of joy and exhaustion. As a Sheffield-based postnatal doula, I offer practical help, emotional steadiness, and gentle infant feeding guidance for families across South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire - both through the daytime and the quiet hours of the night.
While UK families often navigate this transition alone, my care bridges that gap. Whether you are welcoming your first baby or growing your family, I create a supportive bubble so you feel cared for. A typical visit includes setting up a cosy feeding nest, holding space to be listened to, practical home help, and carving out protected time for you to rest, sleep, or shower while I hold baby.

To offer consistent, attentive care, I work with a limited number of families at any one time.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
A postnatal doula provides practical, emotional and informational support during the weeks and months after birth.
My role is to support you as you recover, rest and adjust to life with your baby, helping you feel cared for, confident and less alone during this significant transition.
-
A postnatal doula offers tailored support based on the needs of each family.
Support may include helping with newborn care, preparing simple meals, offering a listening ear, supporting feeding journeys, helping you get some rest, and creating a calm, nurturing environment at home. I also offer infant feeding support, helping you explore what feels right for your family.
Every family is different, so every visit looks a little different too.

Midwives provide medical care and clinical support during pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal period.
As a postnatal doula, I do not provide medical advice or clinical care. My focus is on practical help, emotional support and nurturing the whole family during the transition into parenthood.
Think of me as an extra pair of supportive hands, there to help you feel confident, rested and cared for.
-
Absolutely.
Many first-time parents find it reassuring to have extra support as they navigate the changes that come with welcoming a new baby.
Whether you have questions about newborn care, are adjusting to a new routine, or simply want someone in your corner, I'm here to provide practical help and encouragement without judgement.
I also work with growing families who are welcoming a second, third or subsequent child.

Support can begin as soon as you return home with your baby, or at any stage during your postnatal journey.
Some families arrange support before their baby arrives so everything is in place for those early weeks. Others get in touch later when they feel they would benefit from some extra help.
There is no "right" time to seek support.
-
Yes. In fact, many families choose to arrange support during pregnancy so they can feel prepared and reassured ahead of their baby's arrival.
Meeting before the birth gives us an opportunity to get to know one another, talk about your hopes and concerns, and discuss the type of support that may be most helpful once your baby is here.
-
Support is flexible and tailored to your family's needs.
Some families book occasional sessions for extra reassurance, while others choose regular support over several weeks or months through one of my postnatal support packages.

-
Yes. The dark hours can feel particularly long and isolating when you are healing and navigating newborn sleep. My overnight support is designed to wrap a protective, calm bubble around your home. Whether I am holding your baby while you get unbroken stretches of rest, supporting you through night feeds, or offering a reassuring presence when you feel awake at 3am, I am here to help you and your family reclaim your sleep and steadiness.
-
I support families across Sheffield (including Nether Edge, Ecclesall, Banner Cross, Crookes, Walkley, Broomhill, Dore, Totley, and surrounding suburbs), Rotherham, Chesterfield, Dronfield, and out toward the Peak District villages of Hathersage, Baslow, and Bakewell (roughly a 30-minute radius from S7). For overnight care, I cover these same areas so you don't have to go far to find a rested, trusted pair of hands.

Every family is different, so every visit is shaped around your needs.
A visit might include emotional support, preparing food, helping with household tasks, supporting feeding, holding your baby while you rest, accompanying you on a walk, or simply providing a calm and reassuring presence while you find your feet as a parent.
